COVID-19: Support and services in Dumfries & Galloway

We understand that COVID-19 is having a serious impact on the lives of women who sell/exchange sex. Below you can find information on key services in DUMFRIES & GALLOWAY who are able to provide support with housing, money, food, sexual health, and wellbeing.

Housing, Energy & Money


  • First Base Agency – First Base Agency are currently in the process of opening depots in various locations across Dumfries and Galloway for food parcel collection. Please call 01387 279 680 (12PM-2PM, Mon-Fri) for more information on your nearest collection point
  • Dumfriesshire Foodbank – The foodbank is currently open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (10AM-2PM)
  • Stranraer Millennium Centre – Provide meals and food parcels to vulnerable people. Call 01776 702928 for self-referral
  • The Food Train – Weekly grocery shopping delivery to older people at home covering Dumfries & Galloway

Sexual Health

  • NHS Dumfries and Galloway – If you plan to attend a drop-in clinic please phone 03457023687 during the drop-in times of 9AM-11AM, Monday-Friday. Please do not attend the department. If you would like to make an appointment, phone 03457023687 from 8:30AM-4:00PM, Monday-Friday. If you have an appointment, please attend unless you are told otherwise


  • Soul Soup – Mental health support for young people aged 12-25 years old online and on the phone. You can self-refer into support at
  • Home-Start Wigtownshire – Support for families (with at least one child under five) via phone, email, and social media
  • Upper Nithsdale Action for Children – Support for families via phone on 0165 966 135. Also working to provide free lunches for children in Kelloholm, Kirkconnel and Sanquhar
  • Wigtownshire Women’s Aid – Support for women, children and young people via phone, text, video call, email and social media
  • We Are With You – Confidential addiction support and advice via phone
