How we're creating a digital copy of CLiCK Magazine
Here at CLiCK, we have been busy transforming CLiCK Magazine Online into a digital magazine that you can physically flip through. CLiCK magazine online was a creative platform for women with lived experience of selling or exchanging sex to share their needs and experiences during the coronavirus pandemic. The idea for the platform idea came from wanting to find new ways of communicating and connecting with women, services and decision makers, while foregrounding women’s needs and voices.
We developed 4 distinct aspects to the online magazine, which grew and developed between June 2020 – January 2021. These 4 aspects were our podcast series, CLiCK Cast, a self-care and arts project, Together Alone, an anonymous survey platform, RISE and a space for women to share parts of their stories and creative work, Your Voice.
Although these elements are still visible on our magazine platform, we are now in the process of transforming that content into a digital copy of the magazine, summarising and reflecting on all of these aspects. We are also working alongside women with lived experience of selling or exchanging sex or images as part of a Creative Editorial Team and Writers’ Team, working on key new articles and design elements of the magazine. CLiCK Women’s Workers have been working one-to-one with the Writer’s Team to identify the key needs and issues they feel should be foregrounded, as well as working on recommendations for services. The Creative Editorial Team have been working on the front and back cover, working closely with our designer to ensure these elements convey they messages they feel are important and using tools such as MIRO - an online whiteboard - to share ideas and suggestions.
We are launching the digital copy of the magazine on Thursday 18th and can’t wait to share it with you! Keep your eyes on our social media between now and then for a few sneak peeks...
